How It Works
Creating an embeddable form follows the same intuitive process you already know in Engine Awesome. Drag and drop fields onto your form layout, configure your settings, and publish. Engine Awesome generates an embed snippet you can paste into any website to start collecting submissions immediately.
Powerful Form Actions
Embeddable forms go beyond simple data collection. Each form can be configured to handle records in the way that best fits your workflow:
- Create New Object — Every submission creates a brand-new record in your application. Perfect for lead capture forms, event registrations, or support requests.
- Find or Create Object — The form searches for an existing record based on a matching field. If a match is found, it pulls up that record; if not, it creates a new one. Great for customer portals where users may or may not already exist in your system.
- Update or Create Object — Similar to find or create, but if a matching record is found, its fields are updated with the new submission data. Ideal for profile update forms or recurring data collection where you always want the latest information.
- Update Existing Object — The form updates a record that already exists, with no new record created. Use this for editing workflows where the record is known ahead of time.
Domain Restrictions
Control exactly where your forms can be used. Restrict which domains are allowed to load your embedded form, so only your authorized websites can submit data. This keeps your data clean and prevents unauthorized use of your forms.
Hidden Fields
Not every field needs to be visible to the person filling out the form. Hidden fields let you pass in values behind the scenes—like a source tracker, campaign ID, or any default value—without cluttering the user-facing form. The data still gets saved to the record, giving you full context on every submission.
